Yup, one of DC’s most fascinating and delightfully twisted characters is taking the stage and it looks all kinds of terrifying fun. Set to be a standalone film, outside of the DCEU, this R-rated Joker introduces us to the man behind the clown makeup. We’ll find out what happened to turn the Joker’s life from a tragedy into a [murder-happy] comedy…well, according to him.
The trailer gives us the first look at Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, a clown who’s just trying to find his way in Gotham but, as we all know, he falls into an ever-violent downward spiral into madness. Joining Phoenix is a stellar cast including Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, and Marc Maron. This teaser is setting us up for one hell of a wild ride and we’re ready to jump onboard.
