KPop Demon Hunters
Sherin teams up with Samuel Leggett Jr from JVS Media & Productions to talk all things KPop Demon Hunters, Netflix’s action-packed animated K-pop adventure powered by some fired-up original songs. Sherin and Sam share their favorite songs and shout out the K-drama Easter eggs, the storytelling and characters, and dig into how many emotions this animation evokes. How do they rate this movie? Will there be a sequel? (There’d better be a sequel.) How many cool contemporary series & films can the hosts work in? Stay tuned to find out (read Sherin’s review for more + watch the video version of their talk here)!

Wait wait wait a second—Sherin’s not done. She’s on a roll about KPop Demon Hunters and wants to keep that love going with a K-Pop-Drama list, including: Lovely Runner, The Greatest Love, You’re Beautiful, Reply 1997, and Her Private Life. Find your next obsession here!
Ironheart
Julian jumps on with Sherin to dig into Marvel’s Ironheart, which is on Disney+ now. They highlight the characters and setup, the highs and lows, and the twisted villain takes within the MCU. Between the themes, the way it fits in the Marvel timeline, and their levels of enthusiasm, our Rioters dive all the way in. Sherin says, “Ironheart left me with strong 50/50 feelings. I’m here for the cast, the creatives behind it, and the visuals, but the story doesn’t energize me.”

Read Julian’s thoughts on IRONHEART, the new series focusing on Riri Williams as she leaves M.I.T. in disgrace and tries to find to continue her work, but gets recruited by Parker Robbins, The Hood.
Superman Promos + RIOTUS Reviews
With James Gunn’s Superman take on the horizon, Sherin wants to praise the surrounding promo, particularly the fun character takes on social media from David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult. That leads our hosts into a conversation about how this might just be the Superman we’ve been waiting for. They close out the show by shouting out what they’ve been watching, reviewing, and loving (or not) on RIOTUS lately, including F1: The Movie, Elio, and 28 Days Later. Sherin says, “F1 is 100-mile per hour thrill—a classic sports movie in a new vehicle with lots of action & emotional flexing.”
