“Love Takes Time” but the Wait for WILL TRENT Episode 402 Is Almost Over

Did that cliffhanger get you on your feet? Stay up, because Will Trent – Season 4 isn’t done with us yet. When James Ulster (Greg Germann) whispered to Will, “Time to die.” I almost jump kicked my flatscreen. What do you mean?

After Will’s Angels: Amanda (Sonja Sohn), Faith (Iantha Richardson), and Angie (Erika Christensen), process the burned-out wreckage that allegedly contains Will and Ulster’s bodies, we go back to “A Little Earlier Yesterday.” I’m not kidding, that’s the exact time. That’s where we see all the unhinged action that led up to that season premiere cliffhanger.  And we keep going.

There’s not a lot I can tell you about Will Trent – Episode 402 – “Love Takes Time” but I’ll do what I can. Amanda can’t sit still when somebody hurt her baby boy. She, Faith, Angie, Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin), Franklin (Kevin Daniels), and Sheriff Broussard (Yul Vazquez) are on the manhunt for Ulster. You’re going to be so proud of our gang. The way they put the clues together proves they’re just as good at investigating as Will (Ramón Rodríguez).

You still won’t see what’s coming. The entire episode swerves on us, and the plot goes off-road. “Love Takes Time” becomes a blend of The Silence of the Lambs and Misery, with all the disturbed laughter, action, and insanity that implies. Family has many meanings, but in  “Love Takes Time” some of the characters don’t realize how much the people they love mean to them until it’s too late.

Will Trent remains peak TV, and Episode 402 doesn’t let us down.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

There’s a Pete (Kurt Yue) sighting. We love Pete over here.

Somebody gets a “light perm”—” guys are doing it now, it’s not that big of a deal.” Also, it’s very “boingy.” So that’s good.

Ulster is one of the best asshole villains. He has no patience for anything, even saving his own life and limbs. “I’m all thornes right now.” Okay, buddy. Sure, we can’t wait for you to catch the ricochet.

Is Erika Christensen pregnant for real? If not, this woman is playing every beat and inconvenience of pregnancy so well, you’ll feel the baby pressing on your bladder—sympathetically, of course.

Since Brossard can’t talk to Will, he talks to Cousin Faith to understand his son better.

“Phone code? What a gesture of intimacy!”

Seth (Scott Foley) makes the mistake of trying to get between our found family and he gets a stern talking to that I might’ve replayed more than once. He still doesn’t get it, but we know that at some point this season, he will.

“Not a lot of songs about the pain in the ass parts of a relationship. The babymaking parts, so many songs.”

Ormewood, Aunt Faith, and the kids have the sweetest family.

Wait, is that why I love Will Trent so much? Is it because, like the Fast and Furious franchise, it’s all about chosen family, and that’s my bias when it comes to tropes?
