The Last Apocalypse: The Umbrella Academy Gears Up for its Series Finale on Netflix

Looks like knowing when to “fold ’em” includes umbrellas. It’s official: the countdown has begun for the final chapter of The Umbrella Academy, premiering globally on Netflix on August 8, 2024. Coinciding with the fifth anniversary of the show’s debut, the acclaimed metahuman saga is set to conclude its run in spectacularly messy fashion (like always).

The series, which first captured us in 2019 with its unique blend of dark comedy and action, will see the return of fan-favorite characters played by Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Elliot Page, Ritu Arya, David Castañeda, Tom Hopper, Justin H. Min, Aidan Gallagher and so many maniacal mischief makers. They’ll be joined by newcomers Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, and David Cross for the last hurrah (which is something we’re sure Dear Ole Dad would say).

After the cliffhanger of Season 3, where we left the Hargreeves stripped of their powers in a reset universe, Season 4 is poised to unravel the mysteries with a new timeline and higher stakes. This final season will be the series’ shortest with six episodes, promising a potent and satisfying conclusion to the Hargreeves saga.

Do you want to join us in speculating about the upcoming twists and turns? Get ready for August 8.

Prepare to bid farewell to the Hargreeves siblings in what we’re hoping will be a thrilling and relentless ridiculous end. Cheers to one last apocalypse!
