Our friends over at Crunchyroll have just announced that North American tickets for the first-ever film installment of the SPY x FAMILY franchise, SPY x FAMILY CODE: White, are now on sale. Add a notification for April 19, the day this all-new original adventure lands in theaters across the United States and Canada.
SPY x FAMILY CODE: White, an original standalone story from the SPY x FAMILY series, will be available in both Japanese with English subtitles and in English dubbed format.
In addition to the ticket sales announcement, Crunchyroll has unveiled a new English dub trailer for the film. The trailer is available for viewing here.
SPY x FAMILY CODE: White will bring to the big screen the spycraft adventures of secret agent Twilight, his assassin wife Yor, and their telepathic adopted daughter Anya. This film marks the first time the story, which originated from the popular television series, has been adapted for the cinema.
The official synopsis highlights a mission that sees Loid, aka Twilight, attempting to advance Operation Strix during a supposed family winter getaway. The situation becomes complicated when his adopted daughter Anya inadvertently becomes involved (she eats a clandestine chocolate bonbon), triggering events that pose a threat to world peace.
The film is directed by Takashi Katagiri, written by Ichiro Ohkouchi, and based on the original manga by Tatsuya Endo. It is a production by WIT STUDIO in collaboration with CloverWorks.
SPY x FAMILY is a highly acclaimed franchise, with the manga series having over 31 million copies in circulation. It has been nominated for both Harvey and Eisner Awards and has consistently made the New York Times Graphic Books and Manga bestseller list.
