Everyone’s beloved Modern Family mom Julie Bowen is heading back in time for a 1980’s thrill-ride. She stars in Peacock’s upcoming series Hysteria!, which harkens back to the dark days of the Satanic Panic era. When a small town is rocked by the disappearance of a varsity quarterback, a high school heavy metal band finds their niche as the local interest in the occult skyrockets. But the influx of supernatural activity leaves a trail of blood in its wake, leading right back to them.
Executive Producers/Writers Matthew Scott Kane and David A. Goodman share, “Hysteria! is about both sides of that generational fear. It’s about the thrills of being young, rebellious in spirit and aspirational at heart – and the horrors of growing up and realizing that the world you thought you knew has shifted beneath your feet. Our hope is that parents and children (of the appropriate age, of course) can enjoy the chills, the laughs, the music, and the heart of Hysteria! together. Growing up is scary. So is parenting.”
Hysteria! also stars Anna Camp, Emjay Anthony, Chiara Aurelia, Kezii Curtis, and Nikki Hahn. The 8-episode season premieres on Peacock on October 18, just in time to add to your Halloween chills & thrills watch-list. USA Network and SYFY will also simulcast the first episode, with USA Network airing new episodes each Friday.
