Netflix and Shondaland Drop Tantalizing Teasers for Bridgerton’s Third Season and a Fan Wedding Announcement

|

The scent of love and anticipation was potent as Netflix and Shondaland treated die-hard fans to a lavish Bridgerton event, celebrating the upcoming third season, premiering in two parts on May 16 and June 13, 2024. The star-studded panel, featuring Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes, season three showrunner Jess Brownell, Bridgerton book series author Julia Quinn, and our beloved cast brought a feast of season spoilers.

The panel kicked off the event, diving deep into what fans can look forward to in season three. Amidst the buzz, they confirmed the inclusion of the fan-favorite moment from the novel, Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, where Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) treats Colin Bridgerton’s (Luke Newton) hand injury. Brownell followed up with a tantalizing reveal of episode titles that hint at the season’s juicy story arc.

Rhimes shared her excitement about the upcoming season, saying, “Usually we’re meeting a new person who’s falling in love with one of our regulars. But this time, we know the people who are falling in love. We’re already rooting for them because we already know them, and I’m excited for that.”

Brownell echoed Rhimes’ sentiment, commenting on the underdog characters, “Colin and Penelope are underdogs in many ways…we get to see these characters step into their power this year, which I think will make a lot of people who have ever had an unrequited crush or felt like an underdog before feel very seen.”

The cast then took center stage, teasing their characters’ arcs for the season and introducing a formidable new suitor for Coughlan’s Penelope– Lord Debling (Sam Phillips). Fans were treated to exclusive snaps of their favorite characters, including Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh), and more.

In a delightful surprise, Andoh and Rosheuvel announced a Bridgerton-themed wedding for one super-fan couple, courtesy of Netflix. This unique gesture aims to celebrate the love and loyalty of Bridgerton‘s dedicated fans. More details on this fan wedding can be found on Tudum.com.

The event wrapped up with an exclusive one-minute clip from the upcoming season, giving fans a sneak peek of what’s in store.

The third season of Bridgerton promises plenty of drama, romance, and scandal. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the premiere dates: Part 1 on May 16 and Part 2 on June 13, 2024.
