Andy Serkis & Peter Jackson to Return to Middle Earth with Two New Lord of the Rings Films

|

Please check on your LOTR-obsessed friends today because we are screaming louder than a hobbit who missed second breakfast. After many rumblings over the past few years, Warner Bros. has finally announced not one but TWO new Lord of the Rings movies, slated to release in 2026.

As reported by Deadline, the first film has the working title Lord of the RingsThe Hunt for Gollum, with the one and only Andy Serkis set to star and direct. Original LOTR trilogy director Peter Jackson is slated to produce and longtime writing partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens are set to write the screenplay, along with Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou

With such a legendary team returning to Middle Earth, this news has got us all in a frenzy. Of course, we have questions. And comments. And theories. And ideas. Will any other original cast members return? Will this hunt involve Aragorn? What about any sneaky little hobbitses? Are they TRYING to kill us by making us wait another two years? Stay tuned for more updates, precious!
