It’s a RIOTUS melee talking Sinners and Andor season 2!
Sinners Deserves its Flowers
Sherin, Julian, Kat, and Drew get together for a riotous conversation, kicking off with Sinners (read Sherin’s review for more). They discuss the impact of Ryan Coogler’s latest masterpiece, the movie rollout, the cast, and the accolades they deserve. The costumes, the music, the cinematography, the production design—this film is on top of its game in so many ways, and our Rioters get into it.
Vive la Revolution: Andor Season 2
Our hosts switch over to Andor to break down the first three episodes of S2 (so if you haven’t watched yet, read Julian’s review, then go binge ’em before listening here). They compare the storytelling to real life, shout out the characters, and dig into how Andor fits into the Star Wars galaxy. Sherin says, “Andor S2 is a marathon sprinting towards revolution while you’re trying to hit the brakes. Watch it, take a deep breath, drink water, and hope what you’re witnessing is only entertainment (because it’s entertainment at its gut-wrenching best).
Extra Innings
Much like a real-life melee, time and emotions run over—leading our Rioters into an Extra Innings segment. They have more to say on Andor S2 and how it is breathing new life into Star Wars. As a prequel series to Rogue One, the hosts discuss how it contextualizes the overall timeline (with a few comparisons to other big-hitter franchises like The Rings of Power, Star Trek, and the MCU along the way).
That leads them into a conversation about the future of the MCU and the DCU—with The Fantastic Four and Superman coming to theaters this summer, poised to change the cinematic superhero formula. With storytelling evolving into shorter episodic deliveries, they dive deep into how TV, film, anime, k-dramas, and books are moving into hooks and re-hooks.
