A dashing leading man, wonderful supporting characters, a terrific story and Dean Devlin as the creator?
It must be The Librarians: The Next Chapter!
OMG, if you have not watched The Librarians before, now is the time to jump into a new series on TNT. We are following a librarian who has just been pulled into the present from 200 years ago, in a whole new set of adventures. But he’s not alone, he has 2 sidekicks and a protector to join him in the fray…and a whole new set of items the library wants him to recover.
This whole series is great…I love the new leading man Vikram (Callum McGowan) is dashing and suave and just a little out of his depth with all this new technology around him. It makes him believable when he sweeps in and saves the day. It also makes him just as equally approachable and fun, which is at heart of this series.

His supporting characters are just as wonderful, the scientist (Olivia Morris) “It never gets easier!” and the believer (Bluey Robinson) “It never gets old!”, create a great backdrop for Vikram (McGowan) to perform against. They give him a foot in this era, while allowing him to still be the rogue he is. Robinson is my personal favorite, he’s just like I’d be if I were given access to the library – reading shelves and picking out my next great read and using tech to help the librarians figure out what is happening where.

Devlin has done it again, honestly, this is just as true to the original as you’d want it to be…and yet new and hysterical in wonderful ways. It is the best of curl up and grab some popcorn TV viewing, and something I’d make plans around to catch it when it airs.
The world is a little more magical now that this series is out. Watch it, watch it as soon as you can!
