Emily, ma chérie, how does it feel to be Netflix’s favorite? Emily in Paris is back for an unbelievable fifth(!!!) season, which will continue Miss Girl’s tour around Europe. Season 5 sees Emily (Lily Collins) living it up in Venice, and also Rome, and perhaps even Paris (they have to justify the show’s name, after all). Her time in Italy will allow Emily to explore her blossoming romance with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini).
“Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance,” Collins tells TUDUM. “We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time.”
The S5 synopsis reads, “Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”
We also have a few new faces joining the crew: Bryan Greenberg plays Jake, an American living in Paris; Michèle Laroque plays Yvette, an old friend of Sylvie’s; and Minnie Driver plays Princess Jane, another friend of Sylvie’s who married into a royal family.
All 10 episodes will hit Netflix on December 18—get a sneak peek with the all-new photos:
