Load up on the popcorn, because there’s some action-packed martial arts coming your way. The straight-to-series drama Warrior has just been announced by HBO Miniseries and Cinemax, inspired by an idea from the one and only Bruce Lee. Warrior is a crime drama set in the 19th century during the Tong Wars of San Francisco’s Chinatown, and follows martial arts prodigy Ah Sahm, who immigrated from China and becomes a hatchet man for one of Chinatown’s most powerful tongs, aka a Chinese organized crime family.

With Justin Lin, Danielle Woodrow, Jonathan Tropper, and Shannon Lee as executive producers, the bar is set pretty damn high. Sounds like you must watch it immediately? Yeah, we get it. Stay tuned for more details, as the ten-episode season begins production this fall in Cape Town, South Africa.
