Have you ever been so excited at a concert you forget to hit the record button, therefore NOT capturing your pandemic comfort song? Could it have been due to you furiously waving your light stick during the dance break? Or was it because you were singing (more like screaming) the lyrics along with thousands of fans instead of alone in a car? If you answered yes to any or all of the above and want to experience that concert rush again go see TOMORROW X TOGETHER during their Act: Sweet Mirage tour across the US and Asia.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER or TXT for short is comprised of five members Soobin (the leader), Yeonjun (the all rounder), Beomgyu (the mood maker), Taehyun (the sporty one), and Heuningkai (the cute maknae). With the chameleon like precision of K-pop idols they have executed a variety of genres since they debuted in March of 2019 starting from 90’s R&B and rap in their first mini album The Dream Chapter: Star to arena pop rock in The Chaos Chapter: Freeze to the frenetic dance beats found in The Name Chapter: Temptation; TOMORROW X TOGETHER has come a long way from when Cub and I sang along to Crown in KCON just after they completed their inaugural Showcase: Star in the US.
The Act: Sweet Mirage setlist does a solid job of covering songs from each of TXT’s eras (or album chapters) from Dream, Chaos, to the current Name. It opens with dreamy Blue Hour and the members adorned in princely jackets (in the Seoul concert a carousel comes down from the ceiling) to welcome the audience with a do si do style dance break. Other personal favorites are the moody Can’t You See Me, the anthemic 0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You), melancholic We Lost the Summer, the complete surprise of Eternally, and Cat & Dog that always gets the crowd literally barking.
The stage is minimally set relying on projection-mapping technology to produce a three-dimensional effect with lighting that rivals the light show at Disney Castle. It instantly creates an atmosphere for each song like during 9 and Three Quarters (Run Away) (I dare you to find a better Harry Potter inspired song) that creates a wintery Victorian train station and segues to a solo Hueningkai performance that’s straight outta Mickey’s Fantasia dreams. Other highlights include Drama and New Rules aptly performed within an early 90’s music video concept dressed in baggy sports clothes and against a background of neon colors and who doesn’t want to get away with the top down like during LO$ER=LO♡ER.

During an interview show called SUCHWITA Yeonjun and Taehyun mentioned to SUGA of BTS a regret from their previous tour (which Cub and I are still salty we missed) is not having enough audience interaction. This time the five of them were able to divide their time between choreo heavy songs, playing games with each other, and going out towards the crowd providing ample opportunities for fans to flood social media with plenty of audience interactions.
If you weren’t able to be among the lucky TXT fans or MOA’s (Moment of Alwaysness) in the audience to see TOMORROW X TOGETHER during their current ACT: Sweet Mirage tour you can go to the theaters to watch a live viewing of their LA concert on May 28 through Fathom Events. Don’t forget to bring your MOA light stick!
If you can’t get tickets to see TOMORROW X TOGETHER in concert run like you’re on a sugar rush to your local theater to see a live viewing of their LA performance on May 28!
SCORE: B+
