It’s the moment I’ve been waiting for. You’ve probably been waiting too. The casting for two of our favorite ONE PIECE characters has been announced. Straw Hat Fleet, I give you Cole Escola as Bon Clay and Xolo Maridueña as Ace.
Bon Clay:
Finally, our beloved Bon Clay has been cast. We’ve been waiting for you, Bon-chan! Choosing Cole Escola (they/them) to step into Bon Clay’s ballet slippers is casting worthy of a Swan Arabesque. “Oh, come my way!” Escola’s got the camp, the chaos, and the heart for our adored Mr. 2. Cole is one of the few who could capture Bon-chan’s ride-or-die loyalty and fabulous flair. This is the energy that’ll make Season 3 pop: An okama legend brought to life by a Tony-winning performer who knows how to turn every move into a showstopper.
Ace:
Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace? That’s the Fire Fist we need. Maridueña’s proven he can bring the battle skills, the charm, and the brotherhood fans have been anticipating since day one. With his track record in Cobra Kai and as Blue Beetle, you already know Xolo is ready to deliver Ace’s iconic moments and make us all feel that punch to the gut when it counts.

One Piece Season 3 – What We Know So Far
Netflix has officially renewed ONE PIECE for a third season, with production set to take place in Cape Town, South Africa. Ian Stokes will join Joe Tracz as co-showrunner, succeeding Matt Owens, who officially leaves the series with Season 2. The Straw Hats will sail into the Alabasta Saga in Season 3, bringing Baroque Works and its key members, like Bon Clay, Crocodile AKA Mr. O (Joe Manganiello), and Miss All Sunday AKA Nico Robin (Lera Abova), into the spotlight. No official release date has been set, but based on the anticipated production timeline, a 2027 release is expected.
