<<<SPOILERS INCOMING>>>
If you’re looking for my seasonal Bridgerton reviews, you can find them on RogerEbert: Part 1 | Part 2. These are my notes in real-time. Basically, my episode-by-episode first reactions, raw and unfiltered. Are you ready, dearest gentle readers? It’s time to ball.
The Beyond – Episode 407
After tragedy hits, the Bridgertons close ranks (but where are Kate and Anthony?). Sophie’s next move runs into more trouble, and Benedict is forced to choose between love and family—so love versus love.

Mourning and the Absence of Elders:
I know it has everything to do with scheduling, but, oddly, Kate and Anthony are not present at John’s funeral.
To the Rescue:
First, Eloise and then Sophie come to Francesca’s rescue when she can’t handle the emotional overload of the moment.
“I wanted to feel something other than despair.”
Double Talk from the Queen
“Perhaps the bitch needs some water to cool down.”
The Heir I Breathe
Benedict defends Francesca, but he’s also angry at the rules of society for himself. I’m glad they had their moment of bonding on the pianoforte, because Francesca gets more bad news. I hope the doctor is wrong, and next season we get a happy surprise.

“We are not the same.”
The Family Decides to Support Benedict’s Exit from Society; he only needs to find Sophie first. He must also make a huge sacrifice, because his love is taboo. In the books, he and Sophie end up residing at My Cottage. Will the show go in the same direction? I’m guessing we’re going to see a swerve.
Francesca comes around to Michaela’s idea of celebrating Jon’s life rather than simply mourning it. It’s a big step for Francesca in forgiving herself for not giving John an heir, even though it was never her fault.
Francesca’s speech at John’s Wake awakens Benedict to the fact that he must love now with all his heart because he may not have another chance.
Araminta, the Dowager Lady Penwood, really is a miserable, miserable heifer. Why is she so hell-bent on getting Sophie locked up? We may never know, because it isn’t reasonable. There’s just too much jealousy there. I wish someone would throw a bucket of water on this woman so we can watch her melt.
