Welcome to another installment of our GGR Hallmark Journal!
This year, Renee and Day are giving quick little reviews for some of the Hallmark movies coming out this year. And they will review some cookies along the way too, because what is better than tea and cookies and a Christmas movie?
Ah, what is better than a good sequel to a good movie? Not much!
In this 2nd installment, we see the 3 Brenner brothers back at it again…and this time their baby is a little man in a Christmas Pageant. But when the brothers ruin the pageant they’ve got to pull together despite their own woes and get this show together. Add in mom’s new beau and things get hot, quick!
Day: I have to open with, Three Wiser Men and a Boy was an easy 5/5 cookies for us. It was fun, it was well written, and well acted, and while most Christmas movies follow formula and always finish with a Happily Ever After, this second in the series of “Three Men and a…” I would say has additional emotional depth and complexity. Honestly, I’d even say it is better than the first film.
Renee: It doesn’t hurt that all 3 of the brothers are very easy on the eyes and each one of them have such distinct personalities. Add to that, they’ve got vulnerabilities and problems — all that they are trying to put aside for a little boy they all love and you’ve got a movie that is easy and enjoyable to watch!
The cookie tonight was Teaism’s Salty Oat Cookie — Teaism is a local eatery and these cookies are so good my wife and I always buy a 6-piece mixed pack to take home.
And the best tea to go with these is a nice Twinnings Lady Grey with cream.
