“Takeoff” really does take off—right in the middle of the last episode’s cliffhanger. The badass hero Eraser Head (Junichi Suwabe) has stumbled upon our newly-formed group of vigilantes on his day off, and he doesn’t take too kindly to people messing with his job. Can he and Knuckleduster (Yasuhiro Mamiya) reach an understanding?
Especially seeing as they both have bigger fish to fry when some Trigger-induced bad guys show up; they’ve taken the new street drug that supersizes Quirks and turns the user into an instant villain. It’s time for a team-up of heroic proportions…if Eraser Head will allow it.
Koichi (Shuichiro Umeda) has a new set of body armor and a new name to try on for size, but “The Crawler” doesn’t quite catch on the way he imagined. In fact, it just confuses people and may get him into more trouble than he realizes. Pop☆Step (Ikumi Hasegawa) literally leaps into action but even she needs a little help sometimes, giving Koichi the opportunity to truly prove his worth as a vigilante hero. Oh yes, you’ll squeal at the sight!

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes turns up its high chaotic energy with “Takeoff”, showing us just how monstrous the instant villains can be. Hot damn, the action is explosive and puts the tension into overdrive—broken only by the great zings and one-liner observations. Your senses will be treated to a cacophony of havoc as the fiery score rips through each scene while the shadows swirl and colors explode across the screen.
The characters are starting to find their dynamic, which makes more room for jokes and banter. It also makes room for backstory revelations and surprising motivations that add dimension to the characters. And that gives us more of an idea of what they’re up against—it ain’t just monsters our vigilantes have to deal with…
