Our intrepid vigilantes are back for another round! When we meet up with Pop☆Step (Ikumi Hasegawa) and Koichi (Shuichiro Umeda) again, they’re headed west to Osaka for an idol convention…but they’re being watched. Still, a free trip is a free trip, right? Oh, and along the way, Koichi finds his powers have gotten an upgrade (it’s about time!), and he’s raring to go and use ’em. That boy, he’s just so precious.
Their adventure leads them into a chance meeting with the giant yellow suit-wearing, takoyaki-snacking, beloved body fat-absorbing hero himself, Fat Gum (Kazuyuki Okitsu)! Boy, are we glad to see him. Pop & Koichi also run into Kaniko (Kana Ueda), a fellow idol with a snip-happy Quirk and a mecha-souped-up crab exoskeleton—which she soon leaves them to handle ’cause Miss Girl has some sleuthing to do (IYKYK).

Okay, so the S2 opener of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is setting us up for a ton of rip-roaring action, lulling us into a false sense of security with pretty market scenes and fun mecha-suits. Hey, everyone’s gotta take a break once in a while, right? Well…almost everyone.
While Koichi & Pop goof off and have fun looking at all the delicious food and incredible costumes, Eraser Head (Junichi Suwabe) is on the streets back in Naruhata, cleaning up some grasshoppers and doing some investigating of his own. There’s an even worse trigger infiltrating the market, and he’s tasked with getting to the source.
MHA: Vigilantes S2 hooks us back in with some of the friendship fun and camaraderie that endeared us to the first season, while setting up some new faces to cheer for (or possibly to call a clean-up crew for. Either way). The peppy tone of this episode is matched by its score, cranking up the vibes of this unusual situation to maximum entertainment. And damn, we can’t wait to see what chaos is about to be unleashed…because with MHA: Vigilantes, you know $#!t’s about to go down.
