If you’re looking for your next workplace reality drama fix after Selling Sunset, give June Farms a whirl—set on 120 acres of land in Hudson Valley, June Farms hosts weddings in between explosive fights and workplace hurdles.
Run by entrepreneur Matt Baumgartner, the June Farms operation is a massive one with many moving parts and a lot of young staff who work to create their clients’ dream wedding day. It’s the perfect storm of intense pressure, fiery tempers, and chaotic personal relationships. Baumgartner has extremely high standards and isn’t afraid to demand perfection from his staff; his staff work hard, but they play harder, often mixing romance and forming cliques that cause friction and fallouts.
The space itself is gorgeous, with magical woodlands, super cute farm animals (including my personal fave, highland cows), and bespoke amenities, all tastefully decorated and tailored to each couple. When the lanterns and candles are threaded throughout the trees, the beautiful wedding arches are artfully positioned, and the flowers and tables are set, it looks like a Pinterest-inspired daydream. And when the team adds personal touches—ranging from carnival acrobats to big-screen video calls to a horseback entrance—you can completely see why this is a premier events space.
Each episode takes us through the ins and outs of running a wedding, adding color with confessionals that often contradict what actually happened, as well as scenes that highlight some of the most entertaining trysts of the day. With traditional reality TV editing to capture the best expressions and framing for maximum spectacle, the messiness is a lot to take…but you’ll be eating it up.
The drama is what keeps you coming back for more; it’s honestly an amazing feat that the JF team manages to keep things together in between all the meltdowns. But as you get to know the staff and hear why they do what they do, you’ll begin to understand just how they add their own creativity and flair to the company.
