Since this is the second part of a 2-episode arc, let’s go straight in. The sweet taste of a new love has gotten Amanda into some trouble. I understand the protective instinct, but the minute she gave Casey her personal weapon, we all knew this storyline was going to swerve hard.
“You want Amanda Wagner’s job so badly, try earning it.”
The investigation into the killing of Casey’s estranged husband begins, and Bill Appleyard is back. Once again, he’s sniffing around the Deputy Director job, but we have to ask if he has a point this time? Everybody can see that something isn’t right about this case—including Will and Faith.

The title of this week’s episode, “Did I Screw This Up?” belongs to Amanda, but mostly Ormewood. Ormie and Angie have community service duty at a local university (I think) when they get a tip on a crime. That’s good, but it’s from a psychic student named Seymour. He had a vision of murder and the details are comical. I mean, it’s Will Trent, so we knew there was somebody dead somewhere. Or better put, a body somewhere. Of course, neither Ormewood nor Angie believes Seymour at first. They’re so rude to him, but lucky for us, and Ormewood too, this psychic suspect brings Joanne back to the precinct. Oooh, and she’s mad. Ormie has made mistakes with his love life. He’s out here talking about “meal prep.” Sir, get a hold of yourself.
Will and Faith end up at Magic City, where Will is hilarious. He’s so gallant and gentlemanly with the strippers. I wish the two “cousins” had more interactions with the owner and the ladies. Especially after this conversation:
“I did hear the wings are excellent.“
“My grandmama’s recipe.“
There’s a Pete sighting, but he doesn’t have good news. In other news, Faith is struggling with a stack of unopened letters from Malcolm. Damn, romance is a liability on this show.
We need to talk about Uncle Antonio. And so does Will. Where in the world is he? Sorry, but we don’t find out in this episode, but the repercussions are felt.

The soft and loving side of Amanda is still a steel magnolia with sharp petals, but it’s nice to see. That’s good because this episode leans into sadness. That’s because it’s about women’s desires and dangers and how wrong either of those can go.
As far as Ormewood and Joanne, I cannot wait for more. The banter and the bitterness are peak. Ooh, maybe Joanne and Seymour will get a spin-off or at least become recurring characters.
When it comes to “Did I Screw This Up?” don’t close your eyes, don’t fall asleep, ‘cause you don’t want to miss a thing.
After Air (added Apr 1):
Now that you’ve seen the episode, let’s talk about it. I feel so bad for Amanda. They took Will away from her as a baby, she got shot and is dealing with trauma, and now she opened up to a little romance and got bitten by Snaky Casey. Can we fight Casey? Is that allowed? So basically, Casey and the Stripper (in theaters near you) were scheming the entire time. They knew Dallas would attack Casey again because he was abusive. So they set the stage, let his vile nature lead him into a trap, and pulled the trigger. Amanda was simply a means to cover their asses and escape with $2 million. Did you catch how Casey only used Voice Messages to make it look like Amanda was obsessing? Let’s lift our most heartfelt middle fingers to Casey. Goodbye, don’t come back, but we’re glad you’re free from the man who hurt you.
Seymour really is a psychic. I know some of y’all are skeptical, but some things in life can’t be explained. I hope they bring him back to work on more cases. Do you get the sense that Will and Seymour would be pure comedy but unstoppable together? I do. Ooh, maybe Seymour can help find Uncle Antonio and bring down the Ulster Cult.
Okay, you know I didn’t forget, Ormie and Joanne! Y’all, we have swoons. You have to love that Joanne doesn’t have secrets and isn’t afraid to express herself. She was big mad at Ormewood for his lack of follow-through on their chemistry, and it showed. Ormie is still kinda emotionally repressed and needs somebody as authentically themselves as Joanne. He has also changed a lot from the cheating, absentee husband and dad he used to be. New man, new love. The makers of Will Trent better not mess this up.
Can Faith get a love that isn’t a disaster next? Please?
What did we learn this week? Always listen to Seymour. Otherwise, you’ll fall for a vegan and try to feed them a meat sandwich—um—that didn’t come out right, but you know what I mean.
