Every time Bullseye shows off his powers and/or skills, it’s always bonkers. Remember that scene in the Newspaper bullpen from the original series? If not, watch “Gloves Off” – Season 2, Episode 4 of Daredevil: Born Again—then go watch that. That’s why this postmortem is called a fatal trajectory. The brain-boggling ricochets and calculations it takes to bounce his way to the target every time are thrilling. If these Bullseye fight scenes weren’t such bloody massacres, they could teach kids geometry, trajectory, and physics. That’s a scary thought, but “are you not entertained?”
This episode hops into the boxing ring: Vanessa, you in trouble, girl. Those who know the comics knew this threat was coming, but we’re not sure whether this version of the story will swerve or not. I’ll never tell because Episode 5 will grab you, and we won’t spoil a thing.
But I do have a question: What was Daredevil thinking when he showed up? Is he feeling like if he saves Bullseye he can save himself? Or is he looking to transition from perceived vigilante to true hero? That’s a philosophical question, but I’m intrigued.
What should we look out for this week, Julian?

Julian: Like you said, the big standout is the opening scene with Bullseye in the diner vs those AVTF cops. Very brutal and delightfully violent. I did like the later fight between Daredevil and Bullseye in Bullseye’s nice neighborhood apartment. I think it captures their relationship with each other perfectly. For me, it’s the most Good Guy/Bad Guy exchange between them. Vanessa, remembering the past, was a nice change of pace for the episode. As evil as they are Wilson and Vanessa’s relationship is a good onscreen marriage.
Kirsten McDuffie feels like she’s in a wholly different show. I like her parts very much, feel like a network legal drama. Wilson is strong in the comics, but they make him seem to have super strength in this show. He beat the brakes out of that professional boxer. Seeing BB’s reaction to all this felt like my own. I don’t know why Matt wants to stop Bullseye and the Fisks from destroying each other. Even the New Avengers would just let it happen.
Sherin: I can’t stop thinking about Bullseye saying, “I’m one of the good guys.” Also, the flashbacks to the Netflix series accentuate that this is truly a continuation for these versions of the Marvel characters. But the biggest thing for me is the cause and effect: when Kingpin smashes that crystal sculpture, the shrapnel is what hits Vanessa. His hubris and dictatorial hold on the city is what costs him his wife. Talk about a ricochet.
