Julian spent the weekend at New York Comic Con, where he attended the CROSS panel. The upcoming Prime Video series brings James Patterson’s legendary detective Alex Cross to the screen, starring Aldis Hodge.
Hodge was joined on-stage by executive producer Ben Watkins and cast members Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, and Ryan Eggold. They talk about representing the culture of Washington, DC in the show—which included bringing in Jon Bernthal—and the level of research that went into bringing Alex Cross’ experience to life.
PBS Renegades Aftershow #4: Thomas Wiggins: Composing the Future
The fourth episode of Rioter Day Al-Mohamed’s PBS American Masters series Renegades celebrates Thomas Wiggins, a renowned composer and pianist who was blind from birth and likely autistic. Wiggins was the first African American to perform at the White House, and toured across America and Europe.
Rioter Renee and guest host Mariette Largess talk with the episode’s director/producer Marsha Hallager, producer Tameka Citchen-Spruce, and writer Diane J. Wright about visible and invisible disabilities throughout history, celebrating Wiggins’ genius, and the intersection of disability and race.
