Sherin chats with NBC’s Found creator Nkechi Okoro Carroll, before sitting down with Day Al-Mohamed & Lachi to celebrate Renegades. We also revisit our CROSS panel coverage, our interview with Invincible Fight Girl’s Juston Gordon-Montgomery, and our chat about The Penguin.
Nkechi Okoro Carroll
Nkechi Okoro Carroll is a creative queen: She’s the executive producer for The CW’s All American, the creator of its spinoff All American: Homecoming, and the creator of NBC’s Found. And she’s a delight to chat with—Sherin goes back to Howard University to sit down with Nkechi during the HBCU First Look Film Festival. They talk about a project she had to say no to, how her dreams have evolved, and what she wants to do next.
Invincible Fight Girl x Juston Gordon-Montgomery
The new Adult Swim show Invincible Fight Girl has captured our Rioters’ hearts, and we wanna make sure you enjoy it as much as we do. So revisit Philip’s interview with the series’ executive Juston Gordon-Montgomery all about this super-wrestler show.
CROSS x NYCC
Next we jump over to CROSS, which hits Prime Video tomorrow. In case you missed it, Julian attended the show’s panel at New York Comic Con, which featured stars Aldis Hodge, Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, and Ryan Eggold, and executive producer Ben Watkins. Hear them discuss the show’s representation of Washington, DC and the research that went into bringing Alex Cross from the page to the screen.
Day Al-Mohamed & Lachi x Renegades
We’ve been celebrating Rioter Day Al-Mohamed’s incredible work on her PBS American Masters series Renegades over the past few weeks, and now it’s time to sit down with her right here on GGR. Sherin chats with Day, as well as the award-winning musician and disability rights advocate Lachi, who hosts the five-episode documentary. They introduce themselves and talk about their work elevating disability stories, how they brought the project to life, and finding their style.
Congratulations to Day, Lachi, and the Renegades team on a brilliant series. You can stream all episodes on PBS now.
The Penguin
All episodes of The Penguin are now streaming on Max and our hosts are still shook. Revisit Sherin and Julian’s conversation about the cast and characters, the makeup and effects, and its representation of Gotham.
