GGR Hallmark Journal – Jingle Bell Run

It’s been a few days but welcome back to our GGR Hallmark Journal!

Day: Is that not the best poster ever? We missed the premiere of Jingle Bell Run but caught it on repeat last night! And it was TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!

Renee: What could be better than watching a Christmas themed Amazing Race?  Watching two people fall in love during it!  Yup!  That’s exactly what this movie is!

Day: This film had such a sense of FUN!!! It takes the classic case of “opposites attract” and gives it in a fun turn. Ashley Williams as the puzzle-savvy elementary teacher and Andrew Walker as they fitness-focused former hockey star really tag team well with clear push-pull between the characters.

Renee: I honestly didn’t want to watch this — not because I didn’t wanna see it, because I had a ton of things to do and didn’t feel Iike I could spare the time. BUT the moment it came on, I was sucked in…

Day: She sat there, clean laundry on her lap. Piles on either side. Unfolded. Empty basket at her feet. There was no folding happening at all.

Renee: Hush! I couldn’t help myself. There was real tension in Jingle Bell Run!  Teams we expected to see to the end were eliminated, which made it seem like anything could happen!  I was NOT MOVING from my seat…except to get a refill on my tea.

Renee: OMG, Andrew Walker  was such a bro at the beginning…and his growth is phenomenal! I was just so impressed by him!

Day: I don’t know. I kind of loved Ashley Williams. She was ADORABLE in the classroom. Can I say that? Adorable sounds like I’m talking about a kitten or something. But the interactions with the kids was so sweet!

Renee: I was so impressed by the production quality too…it was simple, but it felt like we really were in different states – when we were likely not even in the U.S. (Yup, I was right…it was all Canada!). Easily 5 out of 5 cookies!

Day: The cookies we grabbed tonight weren’t really cookies. I keep telling Renee that non-cookies for our Hallmark-watch is cheating but she said if I wanted cookies then I had to be responsible for the snacks and, well…I’m lazy. So we got pumpkin bread tonight, made from Renee’s mom’s pumpkin bread recipe. (I still think it is cheating).

Renee: Pffft!!!! It is so good, even if you hate pumpkin bread!  You can find the recipe here: https://nrbrown.com/2018/03/pumpkin-bread-for-the-anti-pumpkin-bread-people-way-in-the-back/. Tonight’s tea was from Tea Forte. We’d gotten a small gift bundle from a friend. 🙂 I got to try their Jasmine Green tea and Renee was feeling adventurous (not unlike our heroes in the film) and so decided on the Raspberry Nectar herbal tea.
