The gore and killings are on full display here, with stunningly animated visuals that flow with all the grace of legendary monsters who move through eons effortlessly. Gosh, the magic is full-throttle and thrilling in its vibrancy and prowess, making the showdowns nothing short of epic.
Erzsebet is a formidable villain, taking inspiration from the infamous Bloody Countess of Hungary and playing fast and loose with her legacy for a whole new take. But you shouldn’t discount Drolta (Elarica Johnson), who has devious plans of her own. Nocturne S2 is a monumental entry into the Castlevania universe, giving us legendary heroes and villains and fifty shades in between—and to that we say, vive la révolution!
